Welcome to Castellmarch
www.castellmarch.co.uk

Castellmarch, a traditional family run beef and sheep
farm, lies one mile from the village of Abersoch and
10 minutes walk from the nearest sandy beach.

Castellmarch according to a legend lost in the mists of time, was the home of "March ap Meirchion" - a prince with horses' ears.  In 1180 "Meirion Goch" a Chieftan of Edeyrnion infamous for his treachery in delivering Prince Griffith ap Cynan to the English lived here.  The present house (probably unfinished) was built in 1628 by Sir William Jones, MP for Beaumaris & Caernarfon, and Chief Justice for Ireland - many tales have been passed on over the centuries about his connection with smugglers in the bay.
